Flemingo International, a global duty free and travel retail company is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Aldridge, travel catering specialist who has over 15 years of experience working across diverse cultures in Asia, Europe and America. He has worked in various capacities as a chef in the kitchens of The Connaught in London to Vice President Global Brand & Marketing at Le Pain Quotidien Headquarters in New York, with stints at Roux, Eurostar, Gourmet Nova (Swissair) and Nuance.
Michael has international experience living and working in Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States. He is currently pursuing an MBA in international hospitality and service industries management. Michael also holds certificates in Multi-unit restaurant management, food service management and executive leadership from various universities.
At Flemingo he will be responsible for establishing the catering strategy for the company and to take the company to its targeted F and B locations within the next twelve months. Many of these units are planned in airport locations, where Flemingo intends to have a master concessionaire status. A total of eleven units are in the pipeline for the next quarter which includes 8 outlets at the new Tanger Med Port, Morocco, and a further 2 outlets in the Caribbean.
Plans are underway for a further 20 sites within the next six months, and Michael says, “ To join Flemingo at this exciting time and head up the food and beverage business is extremely inspiring and motivating for me as there are a number of projects already in the pipe line. Hospitality is in my DNA, and here at Flemingo we are looking at making our mark in Travel catering. It’s great to be a part of the team making this happen”
