Flemingo International, a global duty free and travel retail operator announces the signing of the contract for operating arrival and departure duty free stores in the newly built terminal at Silvio Pettirossi airport in Asuncion, the largest and capital city of Paraguay.
The contract is for a period of four years and the space will include core categories such as liquor, including wines from Chile, Uruguay and Argentina, Perfume, cosmetics, confectionery, tobacco and fashion accessories from renowned brands. The passenger profile is mainly business travellers, regional passengers (Uruguay, Brazil, and Argentina) in addition to passengers from US, Panama and Spain. The airport saw 1.2 million international passengers in the last year and has projected a growth of around 17% for this year.
Flemingo international will be opening its LATAM & Caribbean HQ in Montevideo, Uruguay within the last quarter of the year to support the existing operations within the region such as St Maarten, Costa Rica, Brazil and now Uruguay. Flemingo will also be announcing further expansion plans within the Travel Retail industry in the region by next quarter.
